Doctors' Certificates

Unlike most providers of doctors' certificates, GOSPAIN are unique because we deliver your Certificate of Good Health directly to you Apostilled and in Spanish.

ALL our certificates are issued in both English and Spanish.

The whole process from start to finish is very fast taking approximately 7 working days ONLY.

We collect the signed certificates from our private doctor and have them hand-delivered to the Foreign Office. We then collect them in person (after 3 days) before shipping them to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

The certificates are guaranteed to be accepted by all UK consulates, and should they go out of date before your appointment we will replace the certificate free of charge (excluding apostille costs).

The cost of a certificate in Spanish and bearing the Hague Apostille is £150.

Criminal Record Check

"A Criminal record check certificate (ACRO). Applicants aged 18 and over must submit the original copy of the criminal record check certificate issued by their country or countries of residence for the past 5 years. The ACRO must be apostilled and, where applicable, must be submitted together with an official translation into Spanish. "

GOSPAIN will do all the groundwork for you, we'll submit the application on your behalf and where necessary we'll liaise with the police to ensure that it is issued in good time. The certificate will be delivered directly to our London office whereupon it will be apostilled and translated before being returned to you ready for your appointment.

IMPORTANT - Your ACRO should come back either "No Trace" or "No Live Trace" to guarantee acceptance. If you have ANY convictions on your ACRO then you may be declined a VISA, it is entirely at the discretion of the Spanish Authorities.

In terms of a timeframe, generally, the ACRO is issued within 20 working days (though it can take longer during busy periods ). The process of apostilling and translating the ACRO will add a further 5 days.

Apostilles & Translations

We issue apostilles for UK documents only, it is a paper, not an e-apostille and you will be required to send the original document to our office in London. Further instructions will be issued via email after applying. If you do not receive an email within 15 min please check your junk box before contacting irina@gospain.co.uk)

Medical certificates can only be apostilled if the doctor has registered his signature with the Foreign Office (FCO), nearly half of the medical certificates cannot be legalised due to this reason. If the apostille is time-sensitive please consider having a private doctor supply your certificate (see the doctor's certificate tab above).

Doctors' certificates issued by us are guaranteed to be accepted by the FCO. If you use any other doctor we cannot guarantee that they will be apostilled by the FCO and in the event they are rejected no refund will be offered.

The cost of 1 document to be apostilled and translated is £100 (It takes us ONLY 3-5 business days from start to finish!).

If you require a translation only the cost of 1 document/page is £35 (1-2 business days).

Health Insurance

GOSPAIN works exclusively with ASSSA Health Insurance, and we are pleased to offer STUDENTS a policy that is comprehensive, affordable, and designed to last for the duration of the course.

Students taking out a policy will have free access to doctors and private clinics in the ASSSA directory.

Coverage lasts 3, 6, 9, 12, or 15 months your choice! Our prices start from only £210 (for a 6-month policy) that's less than £35 per month.

Birth & Marriage Certificates

If you are married and applying for a visa, it is preferable to have an updated, apostilled, and translated Marriage Certificate.

The significance of a marriage certificate is that it enables you to make a "family" application, that in itself isn't a huge deal however it also reduces the amount of savings and or passive income (in the case of the Non-Lucrative Visa) needed for a successful application from 28,800€ per person to 28,800 for the first applicant and only 7,200€ for the second applicant.

Birth Certificates are only required in the case of minors (under 18), adults applying for visas DO NOT need to present a birth certificate.

All our certificates are apostilled and translated, and ready for your appointment.

If you are requesting a certificate for a renewal or a visa application that you are submitting electronically in Spain then you only need an electronic copy of the forms (in other words you will not require a hard copy sending to Spain).

We have 2 levels of service, expedited costing £170 (including obtaining the updated certificate, apostille, and translation) this takes 7 working days.

A slower 22 working day service costing £125 again it includes obtaining the updated certificate, apostille, and translation).

S1Registration

S1 is a certificate issued to individuals (and their dependents) who receive the UK state pension and who are either residents of Spain or intend to move to Spain within 3 months. The certificate allows its holder to obtain free state healthcare in Spain paid for by the UK government.

More importantly for non-lucrative Visa purposes, the S1 certificate means that you don't need Private Health Insurance, which for someone of State Retirement age can save them thousands of euros per year.

You can obtain your S1 certificate by calling the NHS overseas department on +44 (0) 191 218 1999, it's recommended you have your National Insurance Number handy when calling.

Having obtained your S1 certificate it will be necessary to register it with the INSS (Instituto Nacional de la Seguridad Social) in Spain. If you would like assistance in registering your S1 either the pre-registration for non-lucrative Visa purposes or the full registration once you are in Spain and you've received your TIE, please complete the form below.

S1 Application - S01

Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero - TIE

After you receive your visa, you will have 90 days to move to Spain THEN after crossing the Spanish border you will have 30 days in which to apply for your TIE card. This process can't be done by a representative and the applicant must present the documents in person, not least because part of the process involves having your fingerprints taken. You will also need to pick up the card in person (usually 4 weeks following your appointment).

We will arrange a TIE appointment at an Immigration Office or your local Police Station for a specific date and time. We will complete the EX-17 and TASA-790-012 forms (The TIE fee is not included in the price and must be paid by you at your local bank). In case you are not informed by the police on how to pick up your new TIE, we will book an appointment to pick up the TIE. We shall provide a checklist of documents that you would need for your appointment.

Please note that in some areas (coastal and the major cities) it is very difficult the get an appointment in this case we shall look for appointments in other towns within your province and if we cannot book an appointment within a week of trying we may ask for your help in checking if more appointments have been released. Please only apply if you agree with the above.

Before applying for a TIE appointment you must obtain Padrón certificate (if you are a couple you would need two, one each), issued within the last 3 months. The Padrón is issued more often than not by your local Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) and it can take between a few minutes and a few weeks to obtain, depending on your town hall.

The cost of the service is 85€.

Important! Almeria region now requires you to book appointments with your personal Clave. Please do not apply for TIE service with us if you live in Almeria region, unfortunately, we cannot help you

Renewing Your Visa

As you know, the initial Non-Lucrative Visa and TIE granted to you when you first arrived in Spain provides you with temporary residence and is only valid for one year.

After the first year, you can choose to extend your "temporary" residency for an additional two years.

Then at the end of these two years, you can apply for a final renewal that will cover the next two years.

Once this period ends and you have been in Spain for a cumulative duration of five years, you will have the opportunity to apply for long-term permanent residency.

Renewals can be submitted up to 60 days prior to, or 90 days following the expiration date of your TIE.

The cost of applying for a RENEWAL with us is €150*.

*State application fees are not included, nor are translation costs, or the cost of providing additional documentation. The exact documentation required varies according to region, therefore you will be notified of which documents you will need during the initial consultation.
