Letter of No Trace for Pareja de Hecho or Marriage in Spain

If you are registering as a Pareja de Hecho (registered partnership) in Spain, you may be asked to provide evidence that you are not currently married or in a registered civil partnership in the UK.

A Letter of No Trace confirms that a search has been carried out and that no marriage or civil partnership record has been found for you during the relevant search period.

Letters of No Trace are most commonly required for Pareja de Hecho applications, although they may also be requested when getting married in Spain.
